Simple Ways to Protect the Earth . PBS Parents | PBS

The key to attachment parenting is knowing when your baby's crying
because he's a selfish prick, and when he's crying because he's
terrified and confused by a strange new world that he doesn't
understand. If it's the latter, I think going to your baby right away
teaches him or her that there's someone out there looking out for him,
which subsequently teaches him the values of compassion, loyalty and
love. If it's the former, for sure, going to him teaches him to be a
selfish prick.

Re: Kids Birthday Parties: Curious George Birthday Party | PBS Parents

I just organized a Curious George party for my son, check it out!

Of course I want to be a great mom! But realizing I am not perfect and never will be, reminds me there's room to grow and that benefits me AND my children.

Re: http://www.pbs.org/parents/special/article-expectations-goodmother.html

The issue is just that the kid isn't responding to the teacher ... not so unusual and such a big deal. There is no problem. BTW, I'm a teacher and think the comments made were not appropriate.

Re: http://www.pbs.org/parents/special/article-expectations-goodmother.html

I think this article was geared towards the mothers that try to be perfect, and ultimately fail, because none of us are perfect. I think any good mother reading this would not take it as an excuse to slack off, because all good mothers want what's best for their children, not what's best for themselves. Preschool teachers arent certified professionals, but they do spend a lot of time with your child, and their input shoudl be taken in. If you don't trust your preschool teacher I would suggest finding a new preschool. I also think that each observation that we see and hear from others should be taken with a grain of salt, because we are raising individuals and shouldn't expect each child to act the same way as the next.

Re: http://www.pbs.org/parents/special/article-expectations-goodmother.html

I disagree with this way of thinking 100%! I believe it gives Mother's an excuse to slack off and not be the best Mother that they can be and the children deserve better. It's not about being perfect or not making mistakes, everyone does. It's about trying to be the best that you can be, as you should be doing in any profession. What would happen if everyone went into their jobs aiming only to be "good enough"? I am in no way, shape, or form a perfect mother and I'm okay with that, but I will never stop trying to be better. My children deserve that.

Re: Birthday Parties: Clifford Dog Bowl Birthday Cake | PBS Parents

Celebrating dog birthday is a great theme for a party.
